action concept – Company – Hermann Joha

Hermann JohaFounder and CEO Hermann Joha is the head of action concept. He was born in Lohr upon the River Main in 1960. Hermann Joha began his career as a stunt professional at the age of 17 y when he joined a British car acrobatic team called "Hell Drivers" at the end of the 1970s.

In 1982 he founded the stunt company called "Driving Unit" in Düsseldorf, which was involved in German TV productions like "Tatort" (Crime Scene), "Die Wache" (The Bill), "Großstadtrevier" (Big City Beat) and "Eurocops" as 2nd unit team - the team that produces the action sequences. When founding his company "action concept Film- und Stuntproduktion GmbH" in the year 1992, Hermann Joha took over the 2nd unit for the hit TV-series "Alarm for Cobra 11" as well as numerous made-for-TV action movies and feature films. At the same time he developed and produced successful formats like the TV-magazine "Stuntteam" for DSF television. In 1996 he was presented with the German TV-award "Goldener Löwe" (Golden Lion) for his work in "Alarm for Cobra 11" and in the following year he was commissioned to produce not only the action scenes but the whole series (1st and 2nd unit).

After the airing of the in-house production "The Clown" in 1997, a made-for-TV movie, a TV-series of the same name was produced. And even more action highlights were to follow: series such as "The Motorcycle Cops", "Wild Angels", "Alarm for Cobra 11 - Mission for Team 2" and the made-for-TV movies "Der Träumer und das wilde Mädchen" (The Trucker and the Thief) , "Der Superbulle und die Halbstarken" (The Cop and the Gang) and "Maximum Speed".

In the following years a well-coordinated team around Hermann Joha developed new ideas and produced new formats like: "Dekker, the Trucker", "Fast Track", "Abyss - a Town Collapses", "Lasko", "112 - Lifesavers" - and in their work they have always remained true to party principles: conceiving an entertaining and thrilling story paired with first-class action.

Hermann Joha's decades of experience in stunt work and his well-coordinated team make the

unexpected possible: in Los Angeles they receive for their productions the "World Stunt Award", the prestigious Stunt Oscar for best action in a foreign film, in the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009.
